This 6000-gallon tropical paradise is home to a diverse array of marine life, including SPS and LPS corals, as well as various tropical fish and clams. The original lighting system consisted of nine 1000-watt metal halides. To meet the demanding light requirements, we replaced the metal halides with seven W2KX LED lights, which provide tunable color and dimming control.
The W2KX LED light was the ideal choice because they offer the best coverage with their 105-degree beam angle. The tightly packed LED array delivers the punch and intensity needed for the vibrant growth of SPS and LPS corals. After six months, it has been reported that the light intensity has significantly increased, resulting in additional coral growth.
